Vintage Iceland Carved Wooden Guest Book w/ Horseshoe Front Cover. Never Used.

An unusual and gutsy carved wooden guest book from Iceland that has never been used. Signed by the maker and dated.
Beautiful and warm hardwood front and back covers, the front with a carved raised horseshoe w/ simulated nails, maker's name and "Gestobok." Massive wooden hinges join the covers with rose-head nails and wooden pins. The first leaf has a vellum look and the other pages are a like wispy smoke. The back cover is carved "VA 2000."
12 in. x 9 in. x 3-1/2 in. The weight is 4 lbs. 1 oz. unboxed.
Condition of the wood and the paper is excellent. The black string needs to be replaced.
Ideal for for use in a B & B or Inn, and certainly a conversation piece.
